Per person Umrah cost at 1, 2, 4, 6 and 10 pilgrims, worked on one family sheet: Rs 521,000 down to Rs 341,300, and the two cost lines that refuse to fall.
On the same twelve night trip, the per person cost of Umrah falls from Rs 521,000 for a pilgrim traveling alone to Rs 341,300 in a group of ten, and almost the whole fall happens in two steps. The second pilgrim halves the room and knocks Rs 123,000 off the per person figure in one move. After that the curve nearly flattens, until the tenth pilgrim's group changes how the rooms themselves are shared.
When two more relatives joined my parents' plan, I re-ran the family sheet at two, four and six travelers to watch it happen, and a mohalla group organizer later borrowed the same table for a party of ten. Every figure is a planning estimate on the calculator's standard settings, reviewed in October 2026, and prices move with season, airline and exchange rate, so confirm live prices before anyone pays.
The Question The Organizer Asked Me
The organizer's question sounded simple: if ten pilgrims go together, how much cheaper is it for each of them? He expected a smooth staircase, every added pilgrim shaving a similar slice. The sheet gave him something more interesting, a steep drop, a long flat stretch, and then a second drop with a different cause. The lines of the umrah cost calculator divide into two families.
Flights and visas are charged per person and never dilute. Rooms and vehicles are charged per unit and dilute with every pilgrim who shares them. The per person price of any group is just those two families added together, which is why the staircase has the shape it has.
The Floor That Never Moves
Start with what a group cannot change. The flight stands at Rs 145,000 per adult and the visa at Rs 58,000 per person, Rs 203,000 a head before a single shared line is counted. Food, at Rs 6,000 a day for twelve days, adds Rs 72,000 more per person, because a tenth pilgrim eats a tenth pilgrim's meals. Together those lines set a floor of Rs 275,000 per person. No group size, however large, goes below that floor on these settings.
Everything a group actually saves happens in the remaining space: the rooms, which cost Rs 201,000 per room across the twelve nights at Rs 18,000 a night in Makkah and Rs 15,000 in Madinah, and the transport, hired at Rs 45,000 per vehicle for a small party. A lone pilgrim carries both whole, Rs 246,000 of shared lines on one pair of shoulders, which is how he reaches Rs 521,000.
Children bend the floor itself, which is worth knowing before a family reads its own row of the table. A child's flight on the calculator's settings stands at Rs 110,000 rather than Rs 145,000, the visa stays Rs 58,000, and a child's food at Rs 3,000 a day comes to Rs 36,000 across the trip.
A child's floor is therefore Rs 204,000, and in a family group the child then takes the same diluted share of rooms and transport as everyone else. It is one more reason a family of four should never judge itself by the couple's row: two of its four floors are lower to begin with.

The second pilgrim is the hardest worker in this table. The moment my parents became two instead of one, the room halved and the vehicle halved, and the per person figure fell by Rs 123,000. At four, with two relatives added and a second room opened, only the transport diluted further, from Rs 22,500 a head to Rs 11,250, so the per person figure eased to Rs 386,750.
At six, three rooms and one vehicle, transport fell to Rs 7,500 a head and the total reached Rs 383,000. From two pilgrims to six, the whole reward for tripling the group was Rs 15,000 a head, because a room that sleeps two cannot be split a third way. Families who feel cheated by this flat stretch are usually staring at the flight line, and the flight line is per head forever. What a longer or shorter trip does to these same figures is a separate lever, and it is the subject of The Trip Length Article.
People join a group expecting every line to shrink. Two lines shrink. The rest stand still and watch.
Ten Pilgrims: Occupancy Does The Work
The organizer's group of ten produced the second real drop, and it came from a decision, not a headcount. His pilgrims agreed to share four to a room where family groupings allowed it, so ten people slept in three rooms instead of five: the rooms bill fell to Rs 603,000 for the group, Rs 60,300 a head. One hired coach at Rs 60,000 replaced the smaller vehicle and cost Rs 6,000 a head.
The shared lines landed at Rs 66,300 per person, and the per person total reached Rs 341,300 against a group total of Rs 3,413,000. Had the same ten people insisted on double rooms, their per person figure would have sat near Rs 381,500, barely below the six person price. The fall at ten was bought with privacy, and the sheet's job is to show the price of that purchase honestly, in both directions.
The organizer laughed when the ten person column settled and called the tenth pilgrim the cheapest guest at the wedding of costs. He was half right. The tenth pilgrim is cheap because the ninth, eighth and seventh agreed to share a room with him. Group savings are never found money. They are comfort, traded at a stated rate.
Together Or In Smaller Units
The use case under this table is an extended family or a community group deciding whether to travel as one party or in smaller units, and the arithmetic gives a calmer answer than the usual argument. Travel together when the dates suit everyone and the room sharing is natural, husbands and wives, brothers, mothers and daughters, because then the savings cost nobody any real comfort.
Travel in smaller units when the big group would force awkward sharing or one fixed date on people whose leave does not match, because the flat stretch between two and six means a family of four traveling alone gives up very little, Rs 11,250 a head against the six person price on this sheet.
One practical word from the organizer's side of the table. A group price is collected, not just calculated, and the mohalla group that borrowed this sheet appointed one man to hold the money, took a fixed deposit from every pilgrim before anything was booked, and kept the sheet itself as the receipt of who had paid what.
Groups rarely fall apart over the size of the per person figure. They fall apart over a late payer and a fare that moved while the money was still being gathered. The deposit, set against the floor lines that never fall, is what protects the booking from the gathering.
At the far end of the scale sits the pilgrim with nobody to share with at all, and his problem is the mirror image of this article: every shared line lands on him whole.
I costed his position against the cheapest package in The Solo Versus Package Comparison, and the gap there, Rs 46,000, is exactly the dilution this table describes, seen from the lonely end. Whether your party is one person or ten, run the sheet at your real number before you argue about the price. The staircase is never the shape people expect, and it is much easier to accept once you have watched the rooms and the vehicle do all the moving.
Questions People Ask About This Page
Why Does The Per Person Umrah Price Fall As The Group Grows?
Two of the lines are not charged per person at all. A hotel room is priced per room and a hired vehicle per vehicle, so every pilgrim who joins splits lines that were already paid for. Flights, visas and food are per head and do not move.
How Much Does A Couple Pay Per Person?
Rs 398,000 per person, Rs 796,000 in total, on the twelve night sheet in this article. That is the calculator's standard couple scenario, and it is the figure the rest of the group table is measured against.
Does A Bigger Group Always Mean A Cheaper Trip?
No. Between two and six pilgrims the per person figure moved only from Rs 398,000 to Rs 383,000, because rooms stop splitting once they hold two people. The next real fall, at ten pilgrims, came from four person room sharing, not from the headcount alone.
What Never Gets Cheaper In A Group?
The flight at Rs 145,000, the visa at Rs 58,000 and food at Rs 72,000 for the trip. Together with nothing else they set a floor of Rs 275,000 per person that no group size, however large, can go below on these settings.
Are These Prices I Can Book At?
No. Every figure is a planning estimate reviewed in October 2026 on the calculator's standard settings, shown so you can copy the method onto your own quotes. Prices move with season, airline and exchange rate, so confirm live prices with the airline, the hotel and a licensed Umrah operator before paying anyone.
